I get this question a lot.
Our friends that own the coffee company in Richmond (where I find most of my burlap bags) inspired us to start using a French press about two years ago when we were first introduced to their coffee. It's freshly roasted in town, and then we grind it and brew the coffee in a French press at home. I doubt we'll ever go back to an automatic drip coffee maker because the French press really does make the best cup of coffee...and that's where the name comes from!
